Our Laundry Room is in full-force renovation mode courtesy of this weekend. Husband and I put our heads {and hands} together this weekend and got a lot done. Here’s a glance into what our weekend looked like!

First, I got home from work Friday and went to town on some laundry, I needed to wash everything because the washer and dryer were soon to be disconnected indefinitely, well until we can get things finished in the new room…

If you “like” the Keeping up with the Manns page on facebook, then you saw this picture Saturday morning as the bulk of the work began..

So off to work we went:

Some of the demo included the sub-floor and adding reinforcement {for our own comfort} to the existing structure, thankfully not completely to tune of leveling like we had to in the bathroom.

I was so nervous about exposing the crawl space, the roaches have been terrible this year with the drought. We had someone come spray the house and dust the crawl space for us so I was afraid that we would find thousands of little nasty corpses, but pleasantly surprised when we didn’t find one!

In case you’d like and explanation of what one our “job sites” looks like, I’ve labeled it for you…

This is just 1/3 of the room…

After we measured several times, the cut for the new door started.

you can see husband’s handiwork in the background with our new, non-leaking plumbing set up

And before I knew it, we had a hole {that we had carefully supported and framed in properly from the other side before cutting through the second side}.

Keeping things creepy fun, but ladies, he’s taken! ha!

Next thing I know, we have an opening for a new door!

…and a Cowboys game in the background.

Then it was on with the masks and gloves for a little insulation party. It’s amazing what a difference the insulation made in the room temperature the moment we had it complete. When we opened up that wall, we found a random few pieces of insulation, no wonder that room was always burning up or freezing cold!

The runner tracks were laid…

and then husband and I framed our little hearts out until we ran out of lumber around 11pm! We’re only lacking 3 more studs and it will be time for drywall and finishes!

Stay tuned for more updates this week, and the continuation of the “we fell in…” series towards the end of the week! Sorry to keep you hanging, it’s a busy one for us, clearly! In the meantime, you can “like” our page on facebook and I’ll post little tib bit updates here and there!
