Sweet, sweet Hudson, I’m a week late in posting this and the pictures are limited but better late with something than never with nothing. You are beginning to have a little bitty personality more and more to fit that little bitty body of yours. You are growing so fast right before our eyes and we can’t believe it! You are SO big, but still so little. Everyone we see talks about how tiny you are, but buddy, you are HUGE to us.

You’re becoming more and more independent-natured as the weeks go on – that’s both good and sad to me. Good because I want you to be able to play on your own, but sad because sometimes I just want to snuggle you when it’s the last thing you would prefer.

This month, you made your first road-trip to Dallas and then to Graham to meet all kinds of extended family. Even though it was just about at the height of your reflux issues, I’d like to think you did pretty good. You celebrated your first Christmas and got so many wonderful things even though you slept right through most of the gift giving and getting.

You still very much dislike tummy-time so we’re finding ways to modify it until you’re just a little bit stronger, but sometimes you just have to do it. We started you on Zantac to help with your reflux and though it isn’t night and day different, we can tell you’re feeling better because you don’t immediately start screaming when you burp or spit up. You’ve started extending your first segment of sleep for us and I’m so blown away! We usually put you down for the night sometime around 7pm and you can go anywhere from 6.5-8.5 hours from there. After that, you’re usually up in 3-4 hours again to nurse. This month, swaddling has been a huge saving grace, you may fight it, but the moment you’re swaddled and in my arms with a paci, those eyes start to close and off you drift into dreamland.

Your head control is getting so good that I can {pretty much} hold you up on my shoulder with just one arm under your butt – but I always have the other one ready incase you decide to bail out backwards. You’re becoming more aware of things as the days go on, and your smiles… ohhhh those smiles! Sometimes they even have some laughs in there too!

Bath time is getting better, you still are pretty chill the whole time in the tub, but now you sort of enjoy getting lotioned up and dressed, that’s when I sing to you and you talk and smile back at me. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite times of the day with you.

Your eyes are the bluest of blues and your hair, though thin, still seems to be dark. I don’t care what color your hair will be, but I’ve always just assumed you would be blonde as a little boy. It makes me smile so big that you might have dark hair like your daddy. Either way, I know we still have time and you’re still going to be pretty stinking cute!

Your father and I cannot get over how beautiful life is, now that you’re here. Hudson, even though the days can sometimes be hard, they are beautiful and they mean more now than they even have in my life. You are ours, by the grace of God, and you fill us with so much joy for you and for each other. We thank the Lord for you each and every day and we can’t wait to see how you continue to grow! Love you, bub.

I can’t believe he’s already 3 months old! He is adorable. A tiny bundle of perfection. Do you love your baby K’tan? It saved me with Adler, and I miss the days that he was snuggled close to me all the time :)
